Work Permits

Work Permits

Permits are required for students between 14 and 16 years old. Student must have a ‘promise of a job’ in order to get a permit. Students working on farms (e.g. Blueberry farms) do NOT require a Work Permit. If you are returning to the same job as the previous year, you don't need a new work permit.

Here are the steps to follow to apply for a Work Permit:

  1. In ink (not pencil) fill out the entire Work Permit application form (link here). It's ok to leave Employer Email blank

  2. Complete Parent/Guardian lines: Signature, Name and Phone Number

  3. Be sure to complete Truancy and Summer School Section

  4. Include a legible email address

  5. Scan or take a screenshot of student’s ID: Birth Certificate or Passport

  6. Send a scan or screenshot of birth certificate or passport and work permit application form to: [email protected]

  7. A completed Work Permit will be emailed back to you.

If you prefer to mail copies of documents, you can send them to: Superintendent’s Office 22 Knowlton St. Camden, Maine 04843
