POETRY ON WINDOWS – Stewardship Education Alliance, Camden Hills Regional High School, and Camden Rockport Middle School

Stewardship Education Alliance is happy to sponsor an event downtown we are calling "Poetry on Windows," June 1 through June 8.  In the display of nature poems, many about the ocean, we hope to draw attention to World Ocean Day on June 8th.

The Stewardship Education Alliance is working to educate our local citizens about ways to improve and maintain the health of our local watershed. We hope "Poetry on Windows" brings our community some beauty and light in these strange times and helps highlight the wonderful poets in our midst.

Most poems featured are by students in our district, both the middle school and the high school. Other poems are ones chosen by community members as favorites and two of the poems are by local published and beloved poets, Dave Morrison and Kristen Lindquist. Moreover, a bevy of talented "scribes" volunteered to write the poems on the windows in their most beautiful handwriting and, in some cases, calligraphic hand.

Poems are by: Winona Lincoln, Lola Kydd, Korsen Landfair, Caroline Kern, Cassie Middleton, Amelia Mills, Amelia Lincoln, Charlotte Thackeray, Emmett Edge, Aaron Dowd all from Camden Rockport Middle School and Aili Charland from CHRHS. Mary Oliver and Anne Bronte are represented as well.
